Western Switchgear provides a full-service solution for the design, manufacture and installation of electrical control systems and electrical switchboards throughout New Zealand.
Formed in 1985, Western Switchgear answered a need for high quality, custom built, low voltage switchboards, motor control centres, and control & distribution panels. Since then, we have been servicing the industrial sector in New Zealand with our specialist capabilities and national workforce.
It is our mission to provide affordable, customer-focused service of outstanding quality, always ensuring timely project delivery and efficiency. We are committed to high safety standards, being Telarc registered for quality and Health & Safety.

BRUCE GUNN
Manager
Bruce brings a wealth of experience to the team. He is an Industrial Electrician by trade and has more than 37 years of experience - 25 of those have been spent specialising in switchboard manufacturing and installation.
This has meant Bruce has extensive knowledge in automation, switchboards, and electrical supply which is invaluable to our clients.
AFROZ KAHN
Production Manager
Khan’s extensive knowledge in the industrial electrical industry is a huge benefit to both Western Switchgear and the clients we service. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Khan as he applies his 13 years of switchboard experience to every project.
Khan is responsible for the manufacturing, design, and production of our switchboard services including CAD design and electrical engineering.
